Mark has been involved in professional hockey for nineteen seasons, including eleven years as a player. During this period, he helped his team win three championships. Mark was voted “Rookie of the Year” while playing for the Moncton Hawks in the AHL during his first professional season. Mark was also named ECHL “Player of the Year “, while playing for the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks . Mark proudly represented Team USA in 1989 at the World Junior Championships held in Anchorage.
Before joining The Augusta RiverHawks, Mark played for several teams in various leagues, including the American Hockey League, Central Hockey League, International Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League and Southern Professional Hockey League. In addition to his player responsibilities, Mark was selected as a Player-Coach on several teams and was elevated to Assistant Coach and eventually Head Coach and General Manager of two of his former teams, The Memphis River Kings and The Twin City Cyclones.
Mark’s coaching and managerial responsibilities included player acquisitions and trades, player payroll and travel arrangements, training camp invitations, scouting, game day operations, press releases, securing sponsors for advertising, immigration, and promoting fan loyalty through the establishment and support of team booster clubs.
During his off-seasons, Mark developed and operated “The Brick Wall Goalie School”, in partnership with NHL goalie Dwayne Roloson and college goaltending coach, Mike Geragosian. Teaching goaltending fundamentals, as well as providing personal coaching and support to players and coaching staffs .
Mark is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where he earned a degree in Business Management. Mark has two sons, Chase age 11, and Paxton age 7. He was a supplemental NHL draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets and spent two seasons in the Jets organization.
